Haywood Christian Ministry is seeking quotes and estimates on the purchase, delivery, and installation of refrigerated locker units to be installed at various locations around Haywood County.

Details of the Project

Haywood Christian Ministry (HCM) will be installing refrigerated locker units at 5 locations in Haywood County. The purpose of these locker units is to provide safe, controlled, 24/7 access to perishable foods for the food insecure of Haywood County. The following are the locations for installation of the lockers:

·      Canton Public Library – 11 Pennsylvania Ave, Canton, NC 28716

·      Fines Creek Public Library – 190 Fines Creek Road, Clyde, NC 28721

·      Clyde Municipal Building – 8437 Carolina Blvd., Clyde, NC 28721

·      Pigeon Community Multicultural Development Center – 450 Pigeon St., Waynesville, NC 28786

·      HCM Main Offices – 150 Branner Ave, Waynesville, NC 28786

Specifications of the lockers

HCM needs refrigerated lockers that can be stocked with individual orders of food, locked, and then retrieved by clients using a unique passcode. Each location should have between 8 and 12 individual locker units plus a control unit. The units should be monitored for safety and functioning. The units shall also be modular, allowing for the expansion of the units in the future.

Evaluation Criteria

HCM will evaluate the proposals utilizing the following criteria.

·      Prices offered

·      Best Value, as the term is defined in G.S. 143-135.9(a)(1)

·      Quality of the articles offered

·      General reputation and performance capabilities of the bidders

·      Transportation charges

·      Costs of Annual Monitoring and other Software fees

·      Integration capability with Feeding America’s Order Ahead platform

·      Size of the entire locker system

·      Internal dimensions of the individual lockers

·      Methods of system monitoring and ease of communication with monitoring centers

·      Availability of Maintenance and Repair for the Units
