Haywood Christian Ministry participates every September in Hunger Action Month, an annual campaign dedicated to raising awareness and taking action against hunger.
Join us this September, where every action - big or small - is one step closer to ending hunger.
Make your first step be to download our Hunger Action Month Calendar and start the “30 Ways in 30 Days to Help Your Hungry Neighbors” challenge! We encourage everyone to print and share it with all your family, friends, and coworkers!

For the month of September visit any of our participating local businesses on their designated day(s) and 10 % of your purchase will be donated to Haywood Christian Ministry to help fight hunger in our community.

Did you know that collecting funds is actually more impactful than collecting food?
With 30% of Haywood County residents experiencing food insecurity, donating your extra or purchased dry and canned goods might seem like the best way to help your neighbors in need. But, the best way to support your local food bank is actually through donating money.
We can turn a donated dollar into more meals
Rather than paying retail prices, Haywood Christian Ministry works with major manufacturers, retailers, and farmers to secure healthy food. This means that when you donate a dollar, you’re able to put more meals on the tables of families than if you donated food you'd purchased at the store.
Haywood Christian Ministry uses donated funds to help cover the cost of picking up food from donors and bringing it to the Smoky Mountain Harvest Hub and our Community Food Pantry. With transportation costs rising, cash donations can make a big difference.
